Glasgow Regional Festival: 22nd February 2015

What: In February we’ll be jetting off to the University of Glasgow for the second of our Regional Festivals, to celebrate the best of Scottish and Northern a cappella. Youth, university and community groups are invited to join us for an afternoon workshop with Scottish tenor Alistair Digges (operatic and concert soloist, musical director and teacher) followed by an evening performance from all participating groups (7-9pm).

Vocal GrangeWhat: This year, Take the Stage (in collaboration with the prestigious London A Cappella Festival) is the launch event for our School Start Up programme, which has been conceived to provide support and mentoring for beginner groups. You will have the chance to meet other schools on the programme and participate in a range of helpful workshops to get you started on your a cappella journey!

Bristol Regional Festival: 22nd November 2014

P1040753What: This year, we promised three, non-competitive events across the UK in order to perform and collaborate with, learn from and socialise with a cappella groups of all ages from your region. Our mini a cappella tour kicks off in the south west, with the City Academy Bristol being the first home of our Regional Festival events. The day will consist of a workshop with a cappella professional Paul Davies followed by an evening performance for all your friends, family and fans (which includes a song learned earlier in the day)! Youth, university and community groups near or far are encouraged to join us for this celebration of a truly UK-wide art form!

The Voice Festival UK Edinburgh Showcase

The Voice Festival UK returns to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival!

Simply Soweta EnchaWhat: This year, the event will begin with an afternoon workshop led by the superb five-piece a cappella group Simply Soweta Encha. The group will be giving an introduction to South African oral and dance traditions, vocal harmonies and energetic rhythms, teaching participants how to relax into creativity.

The evening brings a Showcase featuring a set from each of our participating Youth, University and Community groups, as well as a special collaborative number created during the workshop. You will be treated to performances from:

What: The Voice Festival UK Festival Weekend 2014 – a weekend of a cappella music-making to explore and celebrate Youth, University and Community UK a cappella talent! 

 

 Following on from the success of our 2013 Big Weekend, we’re getting ready for 2014’s Festival Weekend – 2 days jam-packed with performance opportunities, workshops, socialising with, performing with, and learning from the world’s best a cappella talent, as well as the 2014 Youth Competition and the Semi-Final and Final of the University Competition.

Community Showcase 2014

What: The Voice Festival Community Showcase 2014 
 
A day celebrating a cappella singers from across the UK, as part of the Voice Festival UK Community Programme. 
 
The day will consist of a workshop led by members of The House Jacks – a talented and experienced all male group from the USA who are also performing at the 2014 London A Cappella Festival. 
 
The afternoon performance will showcase six of our finest Community Groups with their ever imaginative and showstopping arrangements of songs old and new. You can find out more about them here. Come and cheer them along!

Take the Stage, in partnership with the London A Cappella Festival 2014

As part of London A Cappella Festival, the Voice Festival UK are hosting a day for school and youth singers to Take the Stage and learn from the Grammy-award winning Swingle Singers

What? The opportunity to be guided by the Grammy-award Swingle Singers in how to arrange, learn, and showcase a piece of your choice.  All groups will then Take the Stage in the afternoon to perform for friends, family and supporters. Tickets for supporters to attend will be available from here in January. 

Who? For young singers (up to and including 18 years)

When? Friday 24 January 2014, 9.00am – 5.00pm

Voice Festival UK Youth Competition 2013

What? Enjoy performances from young a cappella groups from across the country as they compete for the title of Voice Festival UK Youth Champions 2013 

When? Saturday 27 April, 2.30pm

Where? Wellington College, (Duke’s Ride Crowthorne, West Berkshire RG45 7PU) – nearest station: Crowthorne. The school has plenty of parking for cars and coaches.

Tickets: £5. Please note that you will receive a paypal confirmation of your ticket purchase but not a physical ticket. Please bring along your paypal conformation and valid I.D. to the event to collect your ticket on the door.
